"I have been meaning to say something about this bunch of crusties from Sweden for a long while. Usually something to the effect that they are a pretty good band, and that their music has power. Lots of power and energy. Did I mention that they were crusts? Yeah, they are. And they come from the right place, Sweden, albeit their style has exploded so much over the last couple of years that even Southern Lord has transformed itself into a crust label and they are flooding the marketplace. Anyway, I was saying that I think Bombangrepp are excellent and that I wish I had given this 2011 release Skuggan av Dodens Sandebud the proper coverage a few months ago because maybe back then I would have felt a tad more strong about it. Not that I don’t now, because really, this recording alone is much better than all those Southern Lord crust records lumped together. Bombangrepp have bite, you know, like the bite of a tiger whale, which I don’t think is an animal, but you get the idea.
